Who am I ?
Hi, I’m Erik Astrand and the man behind this site.
My story? I am about to be 50 and all my life I have been interested in technical things. Not sure if the special interest for the wind, and how to use the wind, started when I as a 5 year old boy and got my first sail dinghy.
Anyway, wind power and to build my own wind generator was a dream for several years. I studied many websites and also bought many courses before I finally built my own windmill. This site is about that journey and you will also find some more general articles about wind power.

I have been up close to many of the turbines in TugHill NY while snowmobiling and always wondered what they were like inside. Thanks so much for filming this. I really enjoyed it. Unless you are up against one of these, it’s hard to imagine their size.
One of my Nephews works on a crew that builds these beasts across the US! It’s hard to believe because he was always afraid of heigths! I can’t wait to see him again so I can give him a good Razzing about that! I realy do give him alot of credit & respect for what he now does!

approx 12$/hr starting . 15-18 with an associates degree at an accredited wind training college

Well it depends on your roll what company you work for. You dont need to have wind training or college. Most colleges dont even have courses for this. We do have one at our college here. Start from 35,000 year to 200,000 year depends on experince roll in wind business. Traveling tech or what ever. Most compaines look for electrical back ground. Thats all you really need to get your foot in the door .
