How a Wind Mill or Turbine is installed

This is the process of installing a wind Power turbine by TCT Renewable Energy

Intelligent Wind Turbine Control Using Remote Laser Wind Sensors

A Smart Wind Turbine Sees the Wind Coming… Catch the Wind’s pulsed laser wind sensors give you the capability to see wind speed and direction at a distance. When mounted on top of a utility scale wind turbine, the Vindicator® laser wind sensor (LWS) pulses three eye-safe lasers through the blades and measures the wind at multiple distances out to 300 meters (984 ft.) With feed-forward wind data, each turbine can follow the wind as it continuously shifts. By staying in alignment with the wind, wind turbines will generate more power and will require less maintenance and down-time. The Vindicator® LWS is an exciting, game-changing product that has great potential to revolutionize how the wind energy industry operates, improving the efficiency and reliability of wind turbines. Catch the Wind is located in Manassas, VA outside of Washington, DC and is focused on making wind energy a more profitable and competitive global energy resource. Alexandria Nicole wind turbines

This week’s Winecast visits Destiny Ridge Vineyard, the 263-acre estate planting for Alexandria Nicole Cellars in the Horse Heaven Hills near Paterson, Wash. Jarrod and Ali Boyle, who own and operate Alexandria Nicole, recently installed 20 Windspire wind turbines to generate electricity. According to a Windspire official, ANC is the first Northwest winery to use the 30-foot-tall machines.

People who know about Solar Power and Wind Turbines?

I am looking at my bill and I use on average about 50 KWH per day…..I dont know if thats high but I want to know what size of an solar power panel should I get or wind turbine to at least cut this in half or more….I would rather want the system to be grid tied.

By the way I live in middle Tennessee we are in zone 4 so we get 4.5 hours of direct sun and I dont now about average wind speeds.

Who am I ?

Erik

Hi, I’m Erik Astrand and the man behind this site.

My story?
I am about to be 50 and all my life I have been interested in technical things. Not sure if the special interest for the wind, and how to use the wind, started when I as a 5 year old boy and got my first sail dinghy.

Anyway, wind power and to build my own wind generator was a dream for several years. I studied many websites and also bought many courses before I finally built my own windmill. This site is about that journey and you will also find some more general articles about wind power.

Enjoy! and check out the about me page to read more.
