Hey Erik here,

What you are reading now is my uncensored, sort of, review of what I really thought about Earth4Energy and how I learned to build wind generator.

Note – this is a review though, if you’re looking for the Earth4Energy website then click here.

Why am I writing this? Well, there are several reasons. I love the nature and wildlife. If my few words here could help you to start your own wind power system, then that could be a tiny help in saving the environment. Another point when getting older, is thoughts about what we leave to our children. Maybe it’s too late already but I think it’s worth trying.

Ok, first of all I have to admit that I am not a mechanic. Yes, as I am about to reach my 50s I have done some easier repairs at cars and my sons scooters and so on. But one thing I certainly hadn’t done before this project was any electrical jobs at all. All my life I had stayed away from those kind of tasks as I didn’t have any clue about how to fix them. This was actually something that held me back starting a wind energy project for some time.

I did start a couple of other wind projects earlier and they were not successful. They failed because I didn’t know how to do and didn’t find the answers in the instructions that I had.

The second time I tried, I only used sites and information that I found on the Internet. There are hundreds of pages about how to build wind generator but I found that I had really difficult to choose which one I should trust. As I had tried before I was really skeptical.

To make a long story short – I worked with this project for about two months until I understood that I had to find better instructions.

Now I found the Earth4Energy site.

This seemed to be a much more comprehensive course than I had seen before and yes, it was.

It takes you by the hand, and shows you step by step one of the easiest and most affordable methods to build your own wind generator.

Click here to visit the Earth4Energy site

The step by step guide is really easy to follow. That is certainly the part that I like most. I found that when I followed these steps I actually built the generator that I had dreamed about for years.

Videos that helped me to build wind generator

Something that also helped me a lot was the videos. Things that I had read about before and didn’t understand made sense now when I looked at the videos.

The site claims that you can build a wind mill for under $200. I am not quite sure about that. I had some parts from earlier tryouts that I could use in my system making it hard to decide. Anyway, to me it seems difficult to build something that cheap. I might be wrong.

In conclusion I am glad that I found the Earth4Energy site. The fact is that I finally built my wind mill with this guide. This site has also opened my eyes to solar power as the guide actually consists of how to build both wind and solar generating systems.

I also save money every month and I know that I have done something really good for the environment.

Click here to visit the Earth4Energy official site

What is a homemade wind generator?

Generally you could say that a wind generator is a machine that uses wind energy to produce electrical energy. It captures wind energy and converts it into mechanical energy that moves the blades of a motor to produce electrical energy.

Wind generators help produce thousands of megawatts of electricity. They are also a very popular power solution for individual farms. They are ideal for large areas with good wind speed.

Setting up or build wind generator does not need professional help; individuals can easily set it up with the help of numerous guides available in the market. The components of a wind generator are also easily available in the market.

How does a wind generator differ from a windmill or wind turbine?

Wind generators have been in use for a long time in the form of windmills or wind turbines. Years ago, when electricity was not invented, wind turbines were used to pull boats and pump out water.

Even now, the terms, wind generator, windmill, and wind turbine are used to refer to the same device.

What are the advantages of using a wind generator?

The advantages of a wind generator are many. Let’s look at a few of them.

Environment-friendly: Wind generators prove to be environment-friendly in two ways:

They do not emit harmful gases in the atmosphere nor do they leave any harmful residual component.

They do not use any fuel to produce electricity, thereby helping the cause of the environment.

Power-saver: Wind generators are an alternative power solution. They do not use any non-renewable sources of energy, thus helping in times of energy crisis.

Economical: Though the initial cost of setting up a wind generator seems high, the cost of generating electricity in the long run becomes nil. So, you will be getting electricity absolutely free after a few years.

Independent option: Wind generators do away with the dependence on power plants and the government for electricity. With a wind generator in your land, you have your own power plant for life.

24/7 power: With wind generators, you can say bye to power outages forever. You will get continuous, uninterrupted power supply for your entire house and land.

Power storage: A homemade wind generator also allows you to store power for use later. This feature makes it an amazingly lucrative power solution.

If you want to help the world and fight the current energy crisis, invest in a wind generator.

Electricity and the sources of electricity is a hot topic today. We all understand that something must be done to increase the use of renewable energy solutions.

What is it like today in the United States? What are the main sources for power?

Unfortunately, coal burning is by far still number one with almost half of the total production (49,8 %). From natural gas and nuclear power we get almost 20 % each.

Then we have hydroelectric and burning petroleum producing a bit less than 10%.

Doing the math shows that the percentage for renewable energy is really small, 2,3%. That includes solar power, biomass, bio fuels, geothermal energy, hydrogen and wind power.

So, what can we do about it?

Well, it seems a bit difficult to make any impact on the whole picture. My solution is to make as much electricity as I can on my own. To use wind power when it is possible and also help others to do so.

What would you say if your neighbor mentioned she was going to build a mini wind turbine? Surprised? To be honest, it is not hard to build such wind generators and homeowners over the country are going for the challenge to make their own electricity. Naturally this is one way to utilize renewable energy. There are some challenges in building such a system but if you find the right instructions you can do it pretty easy.

There is lot of information on the Internet about how to build wind generators but as always with Internet, you don’t know what works and what don’t. My recommendation is to buy an instruction manual to follow. Then you know it will work and maybe most important; you get a guarantee that it will work.

There are a few basic parts in a wind turbine. These are the batteries, turbines, tail and propeller or blades. Yes, you will need some tools but they are simple as well. You need a saw, wrenches and a drill. Then you might need some place where you build the windmill or you can even choose to build it in your garden.

The part that you probably have to purchase is the motor. You can find suitable motors on EBay or similar sites. You could also start with a used one but that might not be the proper way to start out. If there is a problem you will not know if it is caused by the motor.

How much time do I need? Well, it depends on many things but the answer is usually not much. This isn’t a complicated process and most of the time is really for finding the components you decide to use when you build wind generator or turbine.
