Maple Honda will install a private wind turbine at its new dealership in a unique partnership with Power Stream. In keeping with leading edge technology pioneered by Honda Motor Co. Maple Honda has taken the innovative step of integrating energy efficiency in an automotive work place. “This is a new venture for both Power Stream and our leading regional automotive dealership. Our goal is to provide a tangible model for alternative energy options in Ontario. The Production of wind energy creates no air pollution and, if the turbines are sited properly, has minimal environmental impact.” says Mr. Zanchin. This is the first commercial-scale use of wind power to generate electricity in the region. The wind turbine will provide supplemental wind power to Maple Honda, and will produce approximately 110 MWH/Yr-which is the equivalent of powering 17 homes. It removes 82.5 tons of CO2 emissions/Yr and is completely Canadian made. Maple Honda will open for business in early fall 2006.

Possibly a 30 volt one. MY project partners and I aren’t sure, please respond ASAP.
The turbine will be attempting to power a laptop, therefore it needs the generator. The blades will start to generate electricity that the generator will disperse to power said laptop.

EarthForEnergy.BestReviewed.Net – If you’re looking for a complete, expert guide to building your own wind turbine here it is. This guide will teach you how to build a wind generator easily and quickly. Just click the link above to see more. You’ll see how to build a powerful wind generator that is inexpensive, but can still stand to save you a LOT of money. You can even build several like I plan to do and make money by sending power back to the power grid. I’ve been through several guides and this one, Earth 4 Energy, is the most professional I’ve come across that shows you how to build a wind generator. At the same time it makes building a turbine very easy for any first timer – anybody with a simple tool set can do it in only a few days, I’m sure. There are lots of different ways to go about making a turbine, and the one included in this manual is very well done. You’ll get an efficient turbine that will make lots of free power for you. Just click the link above to learn more. Enjoy!

I have a friend who would like to install a wind generator for electricity, but the local power company will not let him connect to the power grid unless he can show that he has a million dollars insurance. Well, he cannot find any company that offers that type of insurance for any price. He has written to everyone he can think of but still no source of insurance. The reason he wants to connect to the power grid is to use it as his storage system so that he doesn’t have to maintain a whole bank of storage batterys. Does anyone know where he can get this type of insurance for a system that will be in the state of Texas?

The benefits of wind energy are many as you certainly know. The best part is that there is the possibility to build a wind generator yourself for a reasonable cost nowadays.

Wind turbines – white structures with three or more blades which are used to generate electricity from the wind – are one of the most efficient methods of generating renewable energy.

This is simple fact, and the continued development and licensing of turbines is further testament to this.

The reason for this general opinion is that, when one views the statistics, wind turbines are powerfully useful. For example, with older energy generation techniques such as using fossil fuels, to generate electricity one must use some of the earth’s natural resources. In the case of fossil fuels, these one day will run out.

Wind turbines have no effect on the earth’s composition and do not need to dig into anything to be able to generate. They take nothing from the earth as an organism, and this makes them a mighty weapon in the battle against climate change.

Wind turbines do not produce any emissions, be it carbon dioxide – the cause of climate change – or other such chemicals which may be harmful. Though the construction of a wind farm or turbine requires electricity and source material, it is estimated it takes a mere nine months for a single wind turbine to ‘pay back’ what is has taken out. What is more, after that initial nine months pay back time, wind turbines do not require anything but the wind to operate.

The biggest benefit of wind turbines, however, is that they take a natural source and make it useful. The wind blows everywhere in the world, and all wind turbines do is take the previously unused kinetic energy of natural weather phenomenon and create usable electricity.

Put simply, the benefits of wind turbines and wind power are overwhelmingly convincing.

With more and more fuels getting wasted and used, there are very few options remaining. Bio-fuel is one of the options and to add to it is the use of solar panels for driving motors and making electricity. The third option is harnessing the wind power.

Wind is a powerful source of energy that has been harnessed for different uses for centuries. More and more scientists and researchers feel that wind can be used effectively as a renewable energy source and this can be done only when power within the moving air can be harnessed properly.

The Wind Energy Industry has grown rapidly since the 1990’s and is considered as one of the fastest growing sectors in the power generation industry. Some of the European countries have even installed wind turbines that have been in operation for almost 20 years now and this entire operation has been extremely successful as well. Using wind turbines to harness wind power to create energy have brought down the production costs and are viable option for the coal fired power stations.

According to a study, the UK has the largest potential wind energy resource in the entire Europe and hence wind is being regarded their most promising future source of renewable energy technologies. As of today the wind turbines in the UK are producing electricity that is being delivered to almost 380,000 households and reaching around 1 million people. A salient point of the use of wind energy is that it has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by almost 1.49 million tones per annum.

The question is how can wind be converted into energy? The answer is: by using a wind turbine. The wind turbine is basically a type of rotating device just like a huge fan that can convert the kinetic energy present in the wind into mechanical energy. When this mechanical energy is used by any type of machinery like a pump then such a machine is known as a windmill. If the same mechanical energy is converted to electricity then the machine that does the conversion is called a wind generator or a wind turbine. It is also known as a wind energy converter (WEC) or a wind power unit (WPU).

Surprisingly the first use of the wind machines was for grinding grains as early as 200 B.C in Persia. It was also introduced in the prosperous and powerful Roman Empire in 250 A.D. The year 1900 saw the maximum number of windmills being used in Denmark. Almost 2700 windmills were installed to provide the much needed mechanical load to pumps and gave a peak power of 35MW.

Why turbines should be used to make electricity from wind

Wind turbines can effectively help in creating mechanical energy, which can be used for multiple purposes including assisting in the generation of power and electricity. Some of the other uses include:

One of the salient points is that there is only a one time installation cost after which the electricity that is produced using a wind turbine will be free.

It is a source of clean renewable energy that will not generate any greenhouse gases or emit carbon dioxide or even produce any dangerous wastes.

Each unit of electricity produced by a wind turbine displaces one from every conventional power station. Wind turbines have been commissioned in the UK and have been extremely successful in prevent the emission of almost one and a three-quarter millions tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.

Wind is a reliable and abundant source. UK being the windiest country in Europe has abundance of wind energy that can be used for making electricity.

Wind power contributes significantly to the overall energy generation in any country. Denmark is one of the countries that gets almost 20% of its electricity from wind power

Wind turbines use an extremely robust technology that is designed for operation locally as well as remotely and requires only periodic maintenance.

Wind turbines might be the answer for larger wind projects. For house owners there are diy kits that can be an alternativ when you are going to build wind generator.

Wind power cost is naturally all depending on the size of the project.

This also depends on many different factors. Do you have to buy the complete system ready built or do you have the ability to build or assemble a do it yourself kit.

There are diy kits that claim that you can get wind power from a small windmill for $150. In this case you buy most of the parts from your locale hardware store. You build the wind turbine yourself and could be producing free green energy in a few hours. This isn’t the kind of wind generator that produces large amount of electricity but in these days every watt counts.
