I’ve heard that most wind farms would be far away from heavily populated areas, and that peak seasons for electricty are the worst times of the year for wind.

I’ve also heard that it’s cheaper to produce electricity with coal than wind?

why should more people use solar power and wind power? and what are the benefits of both of them? does it save you money, how much and how much will it help the earth if one person decided to use them? what about a hundred people? what would happen if everyone and every building, cars, trains, airplanes, EVERYTHING in the whole world started using solar/wind power?

I think they buy solar power (if you generate a ton) but I was wondering if they bought back wind? I was thinking about making some homemade turbines for a winter project.

I know it depends on the region and I know that wind speeds aren’t constant so there isn’t a definite number, but on average, how many homes could one wind turbine power. reliable source please. I’m having an argument with one of my friends. He thinks that wind turbines aren’t worth putting up and they don’t produce a substantial amount of energy, of course I disagree.

Not a car solely running on wind power. It would be like a hybrid car; sometimes it would use battery power, sometimes it would use gas power, and sometimes it would use wind power. On the highway with 60 to 70+ m.p.h winds comming at you, don’t you think somehow we could use that to help power the car?
I’m not talking about attaching a sail to the car I’m talking about wind turbines.
