Nation to generate 30mw electric power using wind

Where does wind power take place?

Like, what area would you see it in (near coasts, deserts, forest)? What does it look like, stuff like that?

Easy points for good answer.

In optimal conditions does a wind turbine collect anoff power to run the rotor at the same speed?

Does a wind turbine ever collect anoff electricity to run (motor) the rotor at the same speed w/o wind?

Iowa Wind Power

A school district is learning – and earning – with wind power.

wind power-good and bad?

whats good about wind power and whats bad. no spam please.

Hi-tech buoy to test ocean winds for turbines

A giant effort to go green… engineers are building a 100ft. tall buoy that will measure wind speed to help determine where to build offshore wind farms.

Can you use an alternator from a car for wind power and how efficient would it be?

what power wind turbine would i need to power an average house. there is plenty of wind where i live?

Govt Center installs wind turbines

Government Center in Downtown Toledo is now operating on a new source of energy. The Ohio Building Authority, which owns Government Center, unveiled four new vertical wind turbines. The turbines are located on top of the building. The new wind turbines cost the company about 0000 to install and the payback will take about 15 years. The city is expected to save thousands of dollars in energy costs. “Currently with the 20 kilowatts that we’ll be able to produce between 000-17000 per year,” said Mark Haberman, Ohio Building authority. “So if we can double the capacity which we think we can do technologically, within the next year, year and a half, we’ll be able to save 000 per year.” The turbines have about a 30-year operating life.

Who am I ?

Erik

Hi, I’m Erik Astrand and the man behind this site.

My story?
I am about to be 50 and all my life I have been interested in technical things. Not sure if the special interest for the wind, and how to use the wind, started when I as a 5 year old boy and got my first sail dinghy.

Anyway, wind power and to build my own wind generator was a dream for several years. I studied many websites and also bought many courses before I finally built my own windmill. This site is about that journey and you will also find some more general articles about wind power.

Enjoy! and check out the about me page to read more.
