This is an interesting video about the construction of one of Europe’s largest offshore wind power parks. It’s called “Princes Amalia” or Q7 for short. It’s built off the coast of The Netherlands near the town of IJmuiden. The capacity of the wind farm is 120 MW and consist 60 turbines producing 2MW each.
This has nothing to do with a homemade wind turbine but I think it can be a great source of inspiration. Anything can be done!
For us diy guys offshore wind power might not be the obvious answer to our energy demand. However, if you live at the coast or near a great lake, you have the advantage of a strong constant wind.
