I have heard about a lot of people who have build their own wind power generators. I am looking to setup one at my house and was wondering where I can get more information on how to build my own wind power generator.

My story? I am about to be 50 and all my life I have been interested in technical things. Not sure if the special interest for the wind, and how to use the wind, started when I as a 5 year old boy and got my first sail dinghy.

Yes a lot of people are moving towards wind and solar power. I have not personally converted yet, but my brother in law did and he is powering his lights and all his appliances with wind power.
There are a lot of DIY guides that will show you how to build your own wind power generator. My brother in law used this websigte http://www.solarpowerexpert.net to do his conversion

A home built wind turbine can can be made inexpensively and provide reliable power. They do require maintenance, just keep that in mind.

You are asking a complex question for this site Why dont you buy a wind turbine and have it set up for you.
Are you talking about windmills, that generate electricity? Sometimes they are also called wind turbines.
